Based on the play Spring Awakening by Frank Wedekind

April 4-6 | 8 p.m.

Desire. Confusion. Rebellion. The turbulent emotions and burgeoning sexuality of adolescence are harnessed in Spring Awakening, winner of eight Tony Awards, four Drama Desk Awards and a Grammy for original cast album. The musical is a bold and innovative adaptation of Frank Wedekind’s controversial 19th century play, which was originally banned in Germany for its frank depiction of sexuality and controversial issues. It gained a new life on Broadway in 2006 as a folk-infused rock musical, with book and lyrics by Steven Sater and an electrifying score by Duncan Sheik. Haunting and provocative, Spring Awakening celebrates an unforgettable journey from youth to adulthood with a power, a poignancy, and a passion you will never forget.

Theatre TCC! presents The Dining Room

By A.R. Gurney

September 27-29 | 8 p.m.
October 5 & 6 | 8 p.m.
October 7 | 2 p.m.

A. R. Gurney’s Pulitzer-nominated play skillfully weaves together the stories of multiple generations in eighteen overlapping scenes, each offering a snapshot of a moment in time. Six to eight actors play fifty-nine characters, swiftly dovetailing from one to the next, illustrating an exceptional range of human relationships. Hailed by the New York Daily News as “a banquet of theatrical riches,” The Dining Room is an overlapping and amusing anthology of vignettes about family and food, inherited and disowned values.

Theatre TCC! presents The Laramie Project

The backdrop for Laramie Project: a highwayBy Moisés Kaufman and the Members of the Tectonic Theater Project

In October of 1998, Matthew Shepard was kidnapped, beaten and left to die, tied to a fence on the outskirts of Laramie, Wyoming because he was gay. Playwright Moisés Kaufman made six trips to Laramie and held more than 200 interviews with the people there. The resulting play chronicles the town in the year after Shepard’s murder and is hailed as one of the most captivating and encompassing pieces of contemporary theatre, the play shocks, challenges, and moves all who watch it as it reveals the lowest depths of hatred and greatest heights of compassion that lies within all human beings in any seemingly average community.

*Viewer Discretion: Because of adult language and mature themes, “The Laramie Project” is not recommended for children.
