Bruce was the official photographer at Paradise Park. His photographs illustrated Lu Vickers’ book, Remembering Paradise Park. (Lu will be scheduling some events to support this project that will be supportive of Black History Month, and writing also)

Art Exhibit: 500 Years of Printmaking

October 18 through December 13

Fine Art Gallery

Explore half a millennium of art history in this collection of hand-crafted prints, the oldest of which dates to 1496, on loan from the Museum of Fine Arts at Florida State University. Featured artists include Salvador Dalí, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol and many other internationally recognized figures.

In addition, the Ralph & Jean Hurst Gallery will host a supporting multimedia exhibit offering insights about traditional printmaking and printing processes. Both exhibits run through December 13.

Guided group tours of the galleries are available on a first-come, first-served basis Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. as well as Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays starting at 3:30 p.m. All tours are free of charge and must be scheduled in advance.

Tallahassee Community College is delighted to welcome back to our Fine Art Gallery the artists from Pyramid Studios.

This exhibit features art from individuals with intellectual and developmental barriers who learn new artistic skills everyday at Pyramid Studios. Pyramid’s unique arts program works to develop these artists and promote their work, while gaining self-esteem and self-confidence. Come see the works of Pyramid Studio artists and how they richly contribute to the life of our community.

The showcase presents outstanding examples of works created by TCC students throughout the 2017-18 school year and selected by instructors of all studio art courses. Media include drawing, painting, design, printmaking, photography, digital illustration and jewelry.

Denise Bookwalter: Paper, Yarn and Cloth

Denise received her BA from Northwestern, and her MFA from Indiana Univ.

She is an Associate Professor of Art at Florida State University where she teaches printmaking and is Area Head of the Printmaking Department. She is the director and founder of Florida State University’s Artists’ Book Press, and Small Craft Advisory.

Roopali Kambo, a native of India and a long-time Florida resident, draws upon her multicultural experiences as the basis for her paintings. The artist’s style has a modernist, abstract quality while the images draw inspiration from the unique cultures of the world.
