Tonight we will be implementing security enhancements for accessing TCC systems.
Tomorrow, you will be prompted to change your password when you sign-in to a TCC system, e.g. Canvas, Office 365, etc. Passwords must be 10 or more characters. We suggest that you use a passphrase, such as a combination of two or more words that may mean something to you (for example, sparklingforestmidnight). Microsoft will evaluate your passphrase when you try to create it. If it is easy to guess or in a list of exposed passphrases from a prior data breach, you will be asked to select another passphrase. Also, as a result of using a passphrase you will not be required to change your password unless it is breached, or if you fail a phishing test. Tomorrow, visit https://askit.tcc.fl.edu and click “Change Your Password/Passphrase”.
We are also expanding Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to access most TCC systems as an extra layer of security designed to prevent unauthorized access to your account.
We highly encourage you to set up the Microsoft Authenticator App as your MFA contact method. For information on how to set up the Microsoft Authenticator App, please visit https://tcc.teamdynamix.com/TDClient/1912/Portal/KB/ArticleDet?ID=95735.
