Zoom drop in meetings for technology support

Colleagues:

Despite the difficult time we find ourselves in, it has been wonderful to see the ways in which the TCC community has come together to continue to provide academic and administrative services to our students and each other. The pace with which IT has been rolling out new technology, and that you have been adopting new technology, over the past few weeks is nothing short of staggering. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we all work together to figure out how to use these new technologies and see where they might fit into our new teaching and working environments.

To support and facilitate your transition to online instruction and remote work using these new tools, Information Technology is going to try to offer a new type of technical support: Zoom Drop-In sessions. Information Technology staff will be hosting a series of Zoom meetings, on a variety of topics, that any faculty or staff member can drop into. To see the sessions that we have planned for the next few weeks please visit:

Once you find a session that you want to attend, click on the “Click here to add to your Outlook calendar” link. That will download an “.ics” file to your local computer that most times will automatically open Outlook and let you add the event to your calendar (if not, you can open the downloaded file).  When the meeting starts, click on the Zoom link in the calendar invitation. You will then be put into the Zoom waiting room as you join the session so that we can maintain the privacy of the person who is in the room before you. When it is your turn you will be added to the meeting where you will be able to talk to, and screen share with IT staff who can then help you with that particular piece of technology.

As we add additional sessions we will add them on the Drop-In page.

We hope that you will find these sessions helpful.
