To make this new network a reality we have contracted with Presidio Networked Solutions to help us design and deploy the new Aruba network, and we have contracted with Delta Technologies to provide the cabling infrastructure needed to support the wireless network. Work has already begun and we expect the new wireless network to be in place and fully operational by this coming summer (June 2020). Information Technology will be sending out updates on the status of the project, including when and how you will be to start to use the new WiFi network.
As mentioned above, new cabling will have to be installed to support all of the new wireless access points. We plan to keep disruptions to a minimum in classroom locations by having those cables installed during winter break and when classes are not in session. However, the cable installer will need to work in other locations during normal business hours. To help you identify these workers we have asked all of the Delta Technologies contractors to wear shirts identifying them as working for Delta and asked them to all carry TCC ID Cards. To help you to plan accordingly, the IT staff will be sending out email messages on Friday to let you know where the cabling contractor will be working the following week.
