IT Help Desk News Dear Colleagues:
Information security is critical to the operation of our College and as an employee of the College you are in a position to come into contact with electronic information that cannot, or should not be shared with others. Whether it is confidential information about a student, or personally identifiable information about another employee, the data that you have access to must be kept secure. Each day numerous cyber-attacks threaten higher education institutions like ours. Our best line of defense is to ensure all College employees understand more about these threats and about how to secure the data that is in their care, custody or control.
In fact, the State Auditors require that we have in place a data security awareness program to educate all employees of the College on the risks that we face with respect to data security and how to mitigate those risks.
To aid in doing this, the College has partnered with KnowBe4 to provide all College employees training to master the practical steps for defending both our data, and the systems on which this data resides.
All employees are required to complete the security awareness training by 5:00 PM on Friday, May 12th. Due to the institutional importance of completing the required training, supervisors will be informed of their employees who fail to complete the training, and those employees may lose access to the TCC network, including email, Workday, Canvas, etc. The Executive Team will also be informed of those who fail to complete the required training.
On Wednesday, April 26th; you will receive an email from techtraining@tcc.fl.edu with instructions on how to access your training.
